Perfect snug dados

  1. Measure where you want the dado to start and add a stop block to a cutting or cross-cut sled to align the blade.
  2. Place the piece you want inside the dado between the stop block and the work piece. This will ensure the dado ends at the right place. Make the first cut.
  3. Remove the spacer.
  4. Because most blades are 1/8 thick, place a 1/8 drill bit between the stop block and the work piece and make the second cut. Make sure the drill bit is the same size as the saw blade.
  5. Remove everything in between
